About Bryony

Hello, I’m Bryony Allman, a children’s author and illustrator based in Cheshire who loves creating stories filled with colour, imagination, and tiny characters with big hearts. Before writing and illustrating picture books, I worked as a nursery nurse, where I learned first-hand how little ones think, feel, and learn.
Those years shaped everything I create today. I write with EYFS understanding in mind keeping stories simple, rhythmic, comforting, and packed with early-learning moments that help children grow. I illustrate in a soft watercolour style, inspired by the quiet magic of childhood: pastel skies, cosy creatures, and worlds where kindness always wins.
My stories are especially crafted for ages 1–5, full of repetition, colour recognition, counting, and warm characters children can fall in love with.
My son, is my biggest inspiration. His imagination sparked the creation of the Rainbow Dragglepuffs, a gentle world where colours fade, friendships matter, and tiny fluffy dragons set off on brave little adventures.

My hope is simple:
to create stories that little ones want to read again and again stories that feel safe, soothing, and full of wonder. Thank you for visiting my little corner of the internet. I can’t wait to share more stories with you.
